Webb14 okt. 2005 · Once upon a time special thick bearings were available to install an early small journal crank (such as 283 or 327) into a big journal block (350). Does anyone know if these extra thick special bearings are still made? If so, from who? Yea they still make those bearings and the rear main uses a spacer still. But yes if you use a stock bore 327 with 283 crank you get a 301, but you have to change the pistons so the pin height is right. IMHO find a steel 350 3.48" crank and use the 6" rods and I think you'll be much happier.
