WebbOfloxacin (ophthalmic) is a fluroquinolones and anti-bacterial agent that is FDA approved for the treatment of bacterial conjuctivitis and corneal ulcers. Common adverse reactions include ocular burning, stinging, redness, itching, ocular and periocular edema, foreign body sensation, photophobia, blurred vision, tearing, dryness, and eye pain. WebbOfloxacin use is contraindicated in patients with a history of quinolone-associated hypersensitivity reactions, myasthenia gravis, and prolonged QTc interval. Unless there is no other option, it is also contraindicated in patients with a history of or at increased risk for aortic aneurysm, Marfan syndrome, or Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
